Privacy Policy

American Friends of Schneider is committed to respecting your privacy and handling your information with care.

Information We Collect

We collect information that you choose to provide to us. This may include your name, email address, mailing address, and any other details. We may also collect basic technical information when you visit our site, such as your IP address and browser type, to operate and improve the website.

How We Use Information

We use your information to communicate with you, process donations, provide updates, operate our programs, and improve our website and outreach. We do not sell personal information.

Sharing of Information

We may share information with trusted service providers who help us operate our website, fundraising platforms, and communications. These providers use your information only to support our operations and are expected to handle it securely.

Mitzvah Project Participants (Children’s Information)

A parent or legal guardian registers and manages participation on behalf of their child.
This may include a child’s first name (or first name and last initial), city/state, project details, photos, and any content shared as part of the project. We collect only what is needed to operate the program. We do not knowingly collect information directly from children.

If a parent or legal guardian chooses to include additional identifying information on a public-facing fundraising page, that information is provided at their discretion and under their control. All information is provided by and collected from the parent or legal guardian, not directly from the child.

We use this information to administer the program, create fundraising pages, and communicate with participating families. Public-facing content, such as gallery cards or project highlights, is shared only with the parent’s permission.

Data Security

We take reasonable steps to protect your information. Information is stored in secure, password-protected systems, and access is limited to those who need it to carry out our work.

Data Retention

We retain information only as long as needed to operate our programs, maintain appropriate records, and comply with legal requirements.

Your Choices

You may unsubscribe from emails at any time, contact us to update or correct your information, or request that we delete your information. For Mitzvah Project participants, parents or legal guardians may request access to, correction of, or deletion of their child’s information at any time.
